iPhone screen repair in West Valley City: incell or OLED, how long it takes, and what changes the price.
Every week we replace iPhone screens from the iPhone 7 through the newest Pro Max. The repair itself is routine; what confuses people is the quote. Here is exactly what moves the price up or down and how long you will be without your phone.

Incell vs OLED: the one choice that matters most
Every iPhone from the X onward originally shipped with an OLED panel. For a repair you can choose between two kinds of replacement:
- Incell (LCD) screen — the budget option. Colours are slightly less deep, blacks are dark grey rather than true black, and the panel is a touch thicker. For a phone that just needs to work again, it is a solid everyday screen.
- OLED screen — matches what the phone came with: true blacks, higher contrast, better in sunlight, and the thinner panel the frame was designed for. It costs more because the part costs more.
We stock both for the common models and will show you the difference side by side if you are undecided. There is no wrong answer; it is a budget call.
Model, Face ID and True Tone
Newer and larger phones use more expensive panels, so a 15 Pro Max screen costs more than an 11 screen. Two things people worry about that are not a problem with a professional repair: Face ID keeps working (we never disturb the sensor flex), and True Tone is transferred to the new screen with a programmer so the display still warms and cools with your room light. If a shop cannot promise both, go elsewhere.
How long it takes
With the screen in stock, an iPhone screen replacement takes about 30 to 60 minutes. You can wait in the shop or come back the same day. If your model is one we have to order, we tell you the day it arrives before you leave the phone with us.
Glass only vs full screen
If the glass is cracked but the picture and touch are perfect, some models qualify for a glass-only (OCA) repair that keeps your original OLED panel underneath. It costs less than a full screen and keeps the factory display. We check for it on every cracked-glass iPhone before quoting a full replacement.
What to bring and what to back up
Bring the phone and your passcode so we can test touch, Face ID and True Tone in front of you after the repair. Screen replacements do not touch your data, but a backup to iCloud or a computer is always a good habit before any repair.
Quick answers
Will Face ID work after a screen replacement?
Yes. Face ID lives in the sensor flex at the top of the phone, not in the screen. We transfer it untouched. Bring your passcode so you can confirm it in the shop.
Incell or OLED — which should I choose?
OLED if you want it to look exactly like it did new; incell if you want the lowest price and a screen that works perfectly for everyday use. We can show you both.
Do you fix the glass only?
On many models, yes, when the display underneath still works perfectly. It keeps your original panel and costs less. We check for it before quoting.
How long does an iPhone screen repair take?
About 30 to 60 minutes when the screen is in stock, which it is for most models. Walk-ins welcome.
